An Investigation into the Primary Visual Language of Various Artists
During this project I will explore and investigate different artists, identify a type of visual language that is most appropriate to my investigation in each, analyse them, and then conduct my own experiments based on my findings.
This project will help towards identifying more types of artistic approaches and styles to illustration. Using visual languages in certain types of illustration that are mainly used in other kinds (i.e. a graphic design styled with an unusual use of colour, used in a graphic novel) is the sort of unique quality that helps a piece be appreciated, and an artist remembered. My experiments that I will conclude this project with will include identified visual languages from different artists and pieces.
The reason for doing this is to feed into my skills as an illustrator, to broaden my horizons and give me an insight into different meanings and approaches in illustration.
The tabs read from left to right, ending on the "Experiment Gallery", where I conduct experimental pieces using the identified Visual Languages of each artist researched.

Can be found at the bottom of each page. Every image or sourced material used that isn't my original work is sourced with a small number next to it. If the notation states "2/8" for example, it means the image furthest left is noted as "2", and image furthest right is "8".
